Hello Kitty bento contest. The winner is Green Kitty.

I'm fascinated by many things of which art and food are high on the list. Bento lunch art is a combination of both. Bento, traditional Japanese boxed lunches, hold a great amount of endearment. The more elaborate the bento the more, it's safe to say, the person loves you. That's why giving someone a homemade bento lunch holds so much significance.

So I went to Japan and took all these pics for y'all - I had a big feature planned - and then a Northwest Airlines baggage handler went and stole my luggage. All my photos were gone (along with my souveniers, roller blades, clothes, etc). Three months later my luggage was found in an abandoned barn in the middle of Minnesota, only my socks and these kids food magazines were left and they smelled like cow poo. But damn-it, I was going to do a Japanese feature so here it is, haiku poems about Japanese kids' lunches: "Crazy Happy Lunch!"
